My Little Garden in week 3 of Lockdown
Living in the middle of suburbia the choices for a Covid-19 exercise walk, limited to approximately an hour, are not brilliant. I can pace the streets having a nosy into people’s gardens, battle with the masses on the canal path (which is worse than any supermarket experience)or walk around the circular path of a local area loosely described as woodland. I am ever so slightly envious of people who live in the countryside, but at the same time grateful that I am healthy and at least have a garden to enjoy.
Anyway, enough of Covid-19 and here are my Six on Saturday.
1. I am thrilled with the blossom on my Crab Apple Tree. Purchased as an end of season bargain last autumn, it has settled in nicely and is looking particularly gorgeous this week.
2. The Amelanchier has been looking equally pretty but in the last few days the petals are starting to drop. This is it’s third spring in my garden and having cost me a whopping £4.80, which is less than the price of a posh Easter egg, it’s been another absolute bargain.
3. The scent from this daffodil is simply gorgeous!
4. This unassuming little Geranium goes by the name of Splish Splash. It is an incredibly pretty little perennial when it lives up to it’s name, but last year I only had pure white flowers with no hint of a splish or a splash. Am hoping for better things this year.
5. The Lamprocapnos / Dicentra / Bleeding Heart is still going strong in it’s container.
6. And the highlight of the week has got to be the tulips and I’m so glad I planted ‘one or two’ last autumn. This is the very beautiful Attila Graffiti which is a lot redder than I expected, but what a beauty.
And that is my Six On Saturday for this week. I hope you’ve enjoyed a quick look at my garden highlights and for more ‘sixes’ take a look at the site of the creator of this weekly collection.
